DATABASES + TOOLS
for Plant Design and Process Development

Databases

When designing and dimensioning apparatus, plants and processes, it is often a matter of detail.

Selecting the right material is just as important as accurately calculating phase equilibria or transport and interface properties. These calculations are crucial for safe and cost-efficient operation.

DETHERM Database

DETHERM contains thermophysical substance data for the layout and design of chemical apparatus, plants and processes. It currently contains over 11.84 million data records for approximately 76,000 pure substances and 253,000 mixtures. The database is updated annually, and the number of entries is continuously increasing by around 7 % per year.

DETHERM as an in-house system or web-based solution
  1. Allows even less-experienced users to quickly find the desired values.
  2. Provides a quick overview of data sets from different sources via the graphical results display.
  3. Includes options for exporting data and integrating it into various process simulators.
  4. Enables easy utilization of own data.
  5. Offers a uniform database for the entire company.

DECHEMA Corrosion Handbook

The DECHEMA Corrosion Handbook represents a comprehensive collection of knowledge that is unique both in its scope as well as content. It covers corrosion data and the chemical resistance of all technically important metallic, non-metallic, inorganic and organic materials in contact with aggressive media. Furthermore, it describes methods of corrosion protection and prevention.

The DECHEMA Corrosion Handbook provides answers to the following questions:

  1. Does information already exist on the behaviour of the desired material in specific media?
  2. Which materials are out of the question for the given task, and which can be used without hesitation?
  3. Under which conditions could a cheaper but less resistant material be used?
  4. Which material has the most favourable price-performance ratio under the given conditions?
  5. Which protective measures (inhibitors, coatings, cathodic protection, etc.) are suitable?
